The SpongeBobs

Unfortunately, we received some disappointing news from the latest test results.  The PET scan showed more liver involvement and no changes in the tumors.  Our poor mom has suffered through some really nasty side effects of the doxorubicin without any progress to show for it.  They have decided to start her on a 3rd drug, Halaven (aka eribulin mesylate).  Third times a charm! Halaven is a natural medicine that comes from a black sea sponge found in the ocean.  Our mom has now joined the "SpongeBobs", a term some women gave themselves while receiving the drug.  She has been feeling very weak, and admits that her days of working are numbered.  Luckily my sister Kim and her pup Bentley, will be with her soon.  Everyone's positive thoughts and energy have been wonderful and have made such a difference for our family.  Please keep them coming:)
